Champions League Cup Information and Rules

• The Champions League Cup is an optional competition for the 2021-22 season. The competition will take place during the entire Champions League tournament, which includes the Group Stage (6 rounds) and the Knockout Stage.
• The Champions League Cup entry fee is $25.00 and is separate from the PLP entry fee.
• The format of the Champions League Cup is broken up into two stages:
• STAGE 1: Group Stage – The Group Stage of the Champions League Cup mirrors the PLP Regular Season format. The participants will enter picks for all 96 matches of the Group Stage and will be ranked by the total points accrued after making all 96 picks. The standings from the Group Stage portion of the competition will determine the seeding of the Knockout Stage portion of the competition. Only the top 6 participants in the Group Stage standings will advance to the knockout stage.
• STAGE 2: Knockout Stage – The Knockout Stage of the Champions League Cup will pit players against each other in head-to-head matchups. The winners of the head-to-head matchups advance to the next round of the competition until we have a champion.
• The Knockout Stage of the Champions League Cup will take place alongside the Knockout Stage of the actual Champions League Tournament, with the first round occurring during the Round of 16, and so on. The Knockout Stage will consist of three rounds with 6 participants advancing to the Knockout Stage. If there are any ties in the Knockout Stage, the tiebreaker goes to the player who scored more points during the Group Stage.
• Zero points are awarded for “Late Picks” for the Champions League Cup!
• The Champions League Cup prizes are: 1st – $100, 2nd – $60, 3rd – $40
